Revolt!
My body is pretty annoyed with me right now. Not in a "that's it. I'm shutting down" kind of way. More of a "What? I thought we were taking a break from this running stuff" kind of way. Apparently the short layoff that I had at the end of the year, set me back quite aways. While I do have an occasional good run here and there, for the most part, much of what I'm doing right now is slow and somewhat painful. On the bright side, with no clear cut goal races right now, I have time to take things slowly, build mileage and not rush it.
Today was two runs of 9 miles each, with about a 4 hours break between the two runs. I can't say I set any speed records on either runs, but I did survive and most importantly, nothing really hurt (except for my pride a little). I have been experiencing some knee pain in my left knee and some soreness in my hip flexors. At this point, I'm just going to monitor them and hope that as I get loosened up, these little nagging pains will just go away. Based on past experience, they usually do.

I've had a fair amount of luck silencing the hip flexors with lots of hill running. For some reason it seems to strengthen them fairly quickly for me, or at least they stop complaining.
Greg. You had a HUGE training year last year. You have had and still have huge emotional stressors (yeah, babies are wonderful, but good and bad stress are equal) You have a big goal for the next Chicago. Ride the wave. Keep the best base possible. Get serious soon. But for now, well, get the baby well. Get Kelly back into Uber-mom shape. Because, in the end, if she crashes, you crash.
You don't know it, but I keep you and yours in my thoughts and prayers.
